Series @ 7- Paula Johns More than just your Jazz Standards

Be it, R&B, Classical or Jazz, there are songs and certain artists that have inspired and touched me throughout my life that have pushed me into some of the musical choices I make and have made.

I've learned an appreciation of opera from mezzo-soprano Mertine Johns...(Yes, My Mother), I've also learned the cool elegance of Nancy Wilson, the humor of Pudgy, the great pop sound of Gladys Knight, the "Sassiness" of Sarah Vaughn, Jazz from Ella, and that NO FEAR attitude from the great Lena Horne! My band and I will be performing songs from Ella’s songbook, the Dionne Warwick songbook, which you remember from a few years ago, and also hits from Stevie Wonder, Roberta Flack, and those great songs from the Great American Songbooks of Gershwin, Porter & Kern

Paula has been performing with the Dave Hart Trio for quite a few years now and was the house band for over 2 years at South Jazz in Philly. Dave & Paula are currently working at The River House at Odettes in New Hope, PA twice a month in their cabaret lounge. With the help of Dave Hartl, on Piano, Lee Smith on Bass and Grant MacAvoy on drums, we hope to hit on your favorite songs. So, sit back and let us take you on a musical journey hopefully, with laughter, maybe a tear or two, but mostly smiling as you remember where you were when that song came out. www.paulajohns.com

Series @ 7- Celebration of Linda Ronstadt by Ronstadt Revue feat. Gesenia

Gesenia first conceived this project back in early 2016. She felt a void out there with regard to the music of Linda Ronstadt, and wanted to fill it with something very special. Gesenia spent almost an entire year searching for just the right musicians to fully showcase Linda’s music, from country rock to mariachi to big band to pop rock. And the result of her efforts is Ronstadt Revue — the world’s finest Linda Ronstadt tribute show.

Each member of the band is a seasoned, talented musician fully dedicated to recreating the sounds and vibe of a Linda Ronstadt live performance from back in the day. But of course, no Ronstadt tribute band can work without “that voice”. And if you close your eyes, Gesenia will have you believing that Linda really is with us on the stage. It is amazing!
